Description
The Corn Maiden is a painting that expresses the Spirit of the sun that nurtures all life on Mother Earth. The basket weave border symbolizes the vessels or children of the Earth that carry the seed of the Sun. The red in the border are the mountains of the earth. The blue are the clouds of the sky. The corn and the maiden express the life that comes from the Sun's seed being planted into the Mother Earth's womb. When I was painting the lady I had the feeling that she represented an actual spirit of a lady from the sun. As I was pondering on that my computer that was playing my music on shuffle began playing "Behind the Sun" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. My whole body tingled.
