Description
I awaken, with my full senses, in a surreal dreamscape with a tall, glowing tree silently walking toward me. It stops just a few feet from me and I realize there is a beautiful, glowing lady sitting on one of the tree’s lower branches. Her shining blond hair and pink gown flowed with a gentle wind as the tree bent over and she glided off the branch and walked up to me. I “knew” I was dreaming and wanted to test who was in front of me so I reached out and gave her a kiss on her lips. I pulled back to watch for a reaction but she never changed her loving expression.
The next time I saw her in my Dreaming, I was attending a Native Sun Dance ceremony in Montana. The ceremony lasted four days and on one of those days they gave us the opportunity to dance within the arbor to support and pray for our friends and relatives that were offering themselves in the Sundance. I began swaying back and forth in place finding a rhythm with the drumbeat of the prayer/song that was accompanied by the Sun dancers blowing their eagle bone whistles in unison. As I danced I gazed up at the top of the center pole and prayed for my friends. Soon, this put me into a semi-trance state and I felt that I was dancing with the Spirit of the buffalo and I prayed for strength and endurance for the dancers.
That night the beautiful illuminated lady came to me again as I slept in my tent on the Sun Dance grounds. With a night sky background she hovers there in front of me on a higher level about chest high to me. Lying down sideways and propped up on one arm, she reaches out, taking my left hand and turns it over palm side up. There in the middle of my left palm is a drawing that I unknowingly had done in black ink of geometric patterns arranged within a sphere with four smaller spheres on the four directional points. After she had left me I went, still in the dream, to the two friends that were dancing in the Sundance and proclaimed to them that I had witnessed an angel.
The following morning one of the grandmothers asks me to sit in front of the big teepees to safe keep the dancers’ gifts that were within. After some time my friend, Ron that I was there with, came walking up with a local guy named Eric that had organized the construction of the sundance arbor that we helped put up a few days before. As we stand there talking, a small, yellow butterfly flutters all around the three of us for quite a while. Comically, Eric sticks out his right hand with his index finger pointing as a perch, saying, “Show me the magic”, beckoning the little guy to land. He soon gave up and we continued our conversation for some time until Eric abruptly points to my hand that I have propped on my hip. There was our fluttery friend pumping its wings up and down while perched on my right index finger.
